NOTES ON THE PERFORMANCE

After Die Zauberflöte and Hänsel und Gretel, this year the annual project of staging a production with students of the Accademia – giving them the opportunity to work with a renowned director and a famed conductor for an entire year – focuses on the Italian repertoire with a re-edition of Luigi Cherubini’s final work, last performed at La Scala in 1963. The young interpreters will have the chance to work through the piece with Liliana Cavani and with Paolo Carignani, who knows this repertoire through and through; the result will be a production built on the close collaboration between La Scala and its world-class Academy.
